Regional Artists Development Series

The Regional Artists Development (RAD) series is a workshop geared towards artists and art professionals who are interested in exploring the leap into the Public Art realm. This 1-day workshop serves as a guide and overview of the nuts and bolts of the field of Public Art, including but not limited to: introduction to the field, the life cycle of a typical public art project, how to read and respond to a call to artists, learning about budgets, contracts and planning. Additional areas of focus could include percent-for-art ordinances, public/private partnerships, community engagement and the role of site specific Public Art. FAPAP will work with the host to best tailor the workshop to their needs.

What FAPAP Provides:

1 full-day workshop providing an overview of the field of Public Art
2-3 speakers who are seasoned professionals in the field.
Travel and accommodations for these speakers
Promotion of the event to members and social media followers

What the host should provide:

Venue for Workshop
Promotion for the event
The decision of the host city to charge for the workshop to underwrite the costs of venue, or to get sponsor

Public Art collection walking tour
Regional Call to Artists launch
Vendor lists and Public Art resources
