Join FAPAP for Coffee & Conversation! Our second Coffee & Conversation takes place November 5 from 3:00–4:00 pm and will focus on Partnerships with the Community. This conversation will discuss partnerships with the community while providing an opportunity to ask questions, exchange experiences, and connect with others working in, or interested in, the field.

Join Colette Mello, FAPAP Vice President and Art Curator at FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios, and Oscar Rieveling, Art in Public Places Coordinator for the City of Miami Beach, for Coffee & Conversation. This public conversation will explore how partnerships connect artists, institutions, and communities, with shared experiences and ideas for building lasting relationships.

The Florida Association of Public Art Professionals is excited to launch Coffee & Conversation, a new monthly online meetup bringing together public artists, administrators, students, and public art enthusiasts from across Florida and beyond. These free, informal, and interactive sessions are designed to create an open space for conversation, connection, and learning. Each month, experienced public art professionals will facilitate a discussion around a different topic impacting the field. Bring your coffee, your questions, your experiences, and your ideas! Whether you are a seasoned professional or just beginning to explore public art, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the conversation.

Our next Coffee & Conversation takes place December 3 from 3:00-4:00 pm and will focus on Collections Management. This conversation will explore the fundamentals of collections management, maintenance, and conservation. Topics will include what to consider when developing a collections management approach, how to build an effective maintenance program, and when it’s time to consult a professional conservator. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A, giving participants an opportunity to ask questions and discuss specific collections care challenges. The discussion will be facilitated by FAPAP Secretary Melissa Davies, Senior Arts Specialist, Neighborhood & Comm Affairs, City of Tampa and FAPAP Board Member Caroline Dickensheets, Miami Managing Conservator, RLA Conservation.
